This project brings a fresh, mature lens to the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood, transforming the well-known children’s story into a darker, more complex narrative for adults. A retelling of a classic tale is presented through an illustrated image in a dustjacket design with visual elements and a small summary of my vision of the story with a different plot; it teases the story’s deeper themes: the tension between innocence and experience, trust and betrayal, and the blurred lines between an unlikely friendship. Drawn from the inspiration from folklore's shadowy elements, this adaptation expands the modern journey of Red Riding Hood, examining her choices and challenges in a world where the "Big Bad Wolf" is more than just a simple antagonist but a complex character that personifies danger, allure, and the unknown.
The dustjacket hints at these thematic shifts, engaging readers with evocative imagery and a brief narrative preview that signals the story’s evolved tone. This adult version of Little Red Riding Hood is a sophisticated tribute to the power of fairy tales to grow and adapt, captivating readers by connecting with the universal themes of fear, curiosity, and transformation in the face of the unknown.
